Money Saving Tips

1) Have a no spend marathon, I've heard of having no spend days but why not extend this for as long as you can? In order to try to refrain from spending at all I batch cook a load of dishes for my lunches in work, and walk every day to work and back home which saves money on travel.

2) Plan your food out, this avoids wasting any and saves on struggling for ideas when you get home to make dinner.

3) Raid your cupboards, you tend to buy odd ingredients to make one dish and then never use them again. Enter google if I find a few odd spices lingering I ask google what else I can do with them which means just picking up some odd bits to go alongside,  costing less for a meal and finally getting rid of those cupboard tenants.

4) Clear out and make cash. Oh Ebay what a love hate relationship we have. I love the idea of throwing out no longer loved items and making a few pounds but there is a bit of work involved! If you're searching for a sunday rainy day activity then this probably works, invest in some time and you can make a few pounds back.

5) Weekly budget; plan your finances out what will be going out for bills and what is coming in salary wise. On top of this an another affective measure is withdrawing your weekly budget so you can physically see what your spending your money on.

6) Research your outgoings; theres a chance you can get your broadband/heating/energy bills cheaper and with so many comparison sites the hard work is done for you.

7) Lists for days; I write a list for anything and everything bit always stick to it which avoids making importune purchases.

8) Own brand the un-important; now am not saying own brand shop all your shopping because I can taste the difference with carbonara sauce and will not skimp out on it! But tinned tomatoes are tinned tomatoes no matter what label so save some pennies and get own brand.

9) Offers, its surprising how many restaurants have food offers through the week so its definitely  worth looking into as it can make a saving! And offers at supermarkets my favourite is an alcohol offer. I often find food offers in supermarkets coax you into buying food you wont make the most of but alcohol such as wine you don't tend to let go to waste!

10) Put money away when possible; my biggest failing for savings is trying to put consistent money away every month. But putting a little away every now and again is so much easier to do.
